The area of low pressure is still likely to remain in the Tasman Sea, inching closer, however a front and accompanying area of rain is expected to bring widespread rain, with some heavy falls from Wednesday, and may affect both Islands.

Showers from Tuesday morning likely to turn to rain later in the day and although heavy falls are possible during Thursday we are expecting minimal impacts

There is a SLIGHT risk for significant heavy rain along the entire Western South Island as indicated in the chart.
